|What we'll do||Once a child’s condition qualifies to receive a wish through our program, that child is paired with two wish granting volunteers. Wish granters get to know the wish children and their families, ask the child what their wish is, work with our staff to do some behind-the-scenes planning, and ultimately, fulfill the child’s one true wish! The time commitment is about two hours per month, per wish that a volunteer picks up. Wish Granters must complete a volunteer application, background check, and in-person training. At this time, Wish Granter Training lasts approximately two hours and is only offered in person. An online option is not available. Make sure to mark your calendar for this upcoming training and spread the word!|

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Make-A-Wish®. Behind every Make-A-Wish experience, there are volunteers filling a multitude of roles. Their commitment is what drives Make-A-Wish and allows us to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. In order to provide the wish children and families with the best experience possible, we require all potential volunteers to go through an assessment before becoming an active Make-A-Wish volunteer. Volunteer paperwork takes about 2 weeks to process and approve. After your paperwork is processed, you will be contacted with detailed instructions as it relates to the next steps based on the opportunities you selected. Please note, volunteer needs may vary by chapter needs.
***If you are not able to complete your application and Volunteer Orientations 1 & 2 prior to attending in-person training, that’s okay, please still attend the in-person training.***
